With the Call of Duty League Major 1 in the review mirror and teams making adjustments to the new game, Modern Warfare 2, we are surely in for a treat with Major 2. Major 1 brought a ton of excitement and fury to many teams. With top teams underperforming, we could be in for a ride as those teams look to get back on track and adjust to MW2.

Can New York Subliners do it Again?

The Subliners surprised the Call of Duty world by winning the Major 1 Championship on the back of Kismet, the MVP of the Major. But overall, it was a well-rounded effort by everyone on the New York Subliners roster. HyDra had endless highlights, while Skyz and Priestahh held their own against the rest of the league. There's no reason to suggest they can't win back-to-back Major championships to start the new CDL year, but history says otherwise, as no team even won more than one Major last season.

Will Boston Breach Defend Their Home Turf?

To say that the Breach didn't start the way they wanted to in the new CDL season would be an understatement. They were utterly embarrassed by the Challengers, Elevate, and the Vegas Legion, one of the lower-level teams in the Call of Duty League. Anything can happen when it comes to the CDL, and the Breach learned that the hard way early in the new game. They have yet to show they have a chance to win the event they're hosting, but anything can happen again.

OpTic's Roster Changes - Will They Improve?

Rostermania was alive and well before the Qualifier weekend of Major 2. After the LA Guerrillas let Huke go, OpTic announced on January 8 that they would be signing him to replace Dashy. OpTic was another team that put together an embarrassing performance in Major 1, getting bounced by the Florida Mutineers. They struggled to find any groove to get into with each other, but early indications say they will bounce back and show the Call of Duty world that they are championship contenders.

Can the LA Thieves Bounce Back?

The reigning league champions fought their way through group play, but when it came to bracket play, they barely made it to Saturday before getting tromped by the Toronto Ultra and finishing as the sixth seed overall. Expectations are much higher than that for a team just coming off its first championship. We can't say that their showing in Major 1 was awful - but the fact that they struggled their way to bracket play is a bit concerning. This star-studded team is bound to have a successful Major in Boston.

Can Toronto Ultra Get to the Championship?

You can put the Toronto Ultra right up there as one of the best teams in the CDL. Modern Warfare 2 treated them well early, and the team came well-prepared to battle with the best of them. A well-rounded quad made to make a run for a title on the back of the youngster, Scrappy, who's a demon and a menace to play against. He puts his best game forward in any game mode and can take control of a match and any given moment. Followed by Insight, Standy, and CleanX, not only can they get to the Major 2 Championship, we could very easily see them in the 2023 Call of Duty League Championship.
